What is a lease?

If you want to rent a trailer, tanker or other type of equipment for more than 12 months, it will be considered as a lease.

If you wish to rent for less than 12 months, please see our rental options.

What are the leasing conditions?

We have standard terms and conditions; they are an integral part of any contract and added with every new contract. We can also send them on request.

In what countries do you provide leasing services?

Where can I pick up my lease equipment?

Your pickup location is stated in your lease contract. Please refer to our location finder for all TIP locations.

Where can I drop off my lease equipment?

Under the standard conditions, you should drop off your equipment at the same location you picked it up from. We can make exclusions on request, but additional charges may occur. Please contact your TIP account manager in this case.

What are the conditions for returning leased equipment?

Please check our fair wear & tear conditions.

Are all of the equipment types on your website available for leasing in my country?

Yes, all assets that are listed under the 'equipment' section are available for leasing.

Could you provide an overview of the services that are included in the leasing agreement?

For all leases with TIP, multipe service options are available. If you choose a full service, this includes: servicing, tyre replacement, axle and brake parts replacement, refrigeration unit parts replacement, other parts replacement and roadside assistance.

Details for all maintenance elements can be found in the standard terms and conditions within your TIP contract, or alternatively, can be sent to you on request.

Are you able to send additional information about specific types of equipment?

Most of the information can be found on our equipment page. If you need additional information, please let us know and we will contact you as soon as possible.

What asset types do you have in your fleet?

We have an extensive fleet of trailers, tankers and other assets. Most of our equipment is displayed here. If you submit a quote, we will assist you with your request.

If you are in need of very specific equipment, we may be able to buy this equipment new and lease it to you. Please contact us for more information.

Do I get a service notification if I lease trailers with TIP?

Yes, you will receive service notifications, unless you choose to be self-responsible for the servicing.

How long does it take to formalise a leasing agreement?

What is rental?

Can I rent a trailer that is higher than 4.0 meters?

Height regulations vary depending on the country you are located in. European Standard Equipment is 4000mm based on 5th wheel height between 1120 – 1150mm. These are the official European Height Regulations per country:

No Limit = UK, FR, NO, SW

4.25m = IR

4.2m = FI

4.0m = NL, BE (1%), LU, ES, PT (container 4.4m), EE, DK, PL, GE, CZ, HU, AU, IT (container              4.3m), GR

What are the rental prices for a day/week/month and what are the payment terms?

This depends on the type of trailer you need. Please submit a quote and we will come back to you with the most attractive offer possible.

Are all of the equipment types on your website available for rental in my country?

Yes; all types of equipment that are presented on our 'equipment' page are available for renting.

What are the rental conditions?

Will the equipment that I am renting have a valid MOT?

Yes; we always provide our customers with serviced trailers and a valid MOT.

What is included in a full service in a renting contract?

A full service comprises of servicing, tyre replacement, axle and brake parts replacement, refrigeration unit parts replacement, other parts replacement and roadside assistance service and is compulsory for all hires shorter than 12 months.

What asset types do you have in your fleet?

We have an extensive fleet of trailers and other assets. Most of our equipment is displayed here. If you submit a quote, we will assist you with your request.

What type of maintenance do you provide?

We offer a range of services to improve your fleet performance and reduce operating costs, making your operations more agile and profitable. Next to maintenance, we also offer trailer damage repair management.

Can you repair my assets on location?

Yes, we have a full range of MSU's (mobile service units) to provide service on your location.

What are the costs for TIP's maintenance services?

Please let us know what you need and we will send you a quotation.

I would like to make an appointment to repair my trailer.

I have my own trailers/trailer that need(s) to be serviced. Can I come to a TIP workshop?

Yes, we are fully specialised in maintaining semi-trailers and other equipment. Please book your appointment at one of our workshops.

Is it possible to have a roadside assistance for my own equipment?

Roadside assistance is included in most of our rental, leasing and maintenance contracts. If you want just a roadside assistance contract, without maintenance for your own fleet, that's also possible. Please contact us for a customised offer.

Where can I find the TIP workshops?

We own more than 80 workshops around Europe. You can find the locations near you on our Location Finder, or you can book an appointment for maintenance at one of our workshops.

What are the workshop's opening hours?

To find opening hours of our workshops, please use our Location Finder.

What type of tyre brands do you use?

Our preffered supplier is Goodyear. Next to that we have a wide range of other tyre brands.

How long does it take to service a trailer?

We aim to have your equipment ready for pick up within 1 working day.

Do you sell spare parts?

Yes we do, in all of our locations besides our workshops in the UK.

Do you repair trucks?

Yes, we have trained mechanics across all regions. We provide truck repair service across the whole of the UK, Nordics and Central region as well as locations of Maasdijk, Breda, Tiel, Amsterdam and Ommen in Benelux.

Do I get a service notification if I lease trailers with TIP?

Yes, you will receive service notifications, unless you choose to be self-responsible for the servicing.

Do you have a brake tester?

Yes. We provide this service in all workshops across the UK, Benelux, Central region and in most of the locations in the Nordics (Aarhus, Taastrup, Hirtshals, Helsingborg, Oslo, Stavanger, Kerava, Hamina, Jyväskylä).

Do you do aluminium welding?

Yes. We provide this service in all TIP locations in Benelux and Central region, as well as all workshops in the Nordics (besides Aarhus), and also in our Simonswood branch in the UK.

Do you have a washing station?

Yes, most of our locations have washing areas

Can you replace tyres on my asset?

Yes, in the UK and the Nordics, our tyre partner is located close to all of our locations. In Benelux, we have this service in Waalhaven, Venlo and Botlek and in Central region we have it in Halle and Rheda-Wiedenbrück.

I would like to maintain tyres on my ADR equipment. Is this possible to have done at one of TIP's workshops?

In the UK and the Nordics, our tyre partner is located close to all of our locations. In Benelux, we have this service in Waalhaven, Venlo and Botlek and in Central region we have it in Halle and Rheda-Wiedenbrück.

Do you do reefer maintanence?

Yes, our Reefer partner is located close to all of our locations in the UK and Benelux. In the Nordics, we have this service in the following locations: Padborg, Taulov, Taastrup, Hirtshals, Helsingborg, Jönköping, Gothenburg, Säve, Oslo, Vestby and Stavanger. We do not provide this service in Central region.

Do you provide a tank washing service?

No, we do not provide this service at TIP. However, we have good relationships with approved independent cleaning stations and are able to refer you.

I am looking for a specific trailer but I could not find it on your website. Do you have more trailers available for sale?

Yes, we have more trailers available for sale. Most probably we have exactly what you are looking for! Please contact us and we will assist you with your request.

Is it possible to deliver trailers to a different location?

Yes, we can deliver trailers to almost anywhere. You can request a shipping quotation.

What would be the cost of delivering a trailer to a port?

These prices depend on the location of the trailer and the port you would like to ship from. You can send all the details to us and we will provide you with the best solution available.

Are you able to provide additional pictures of trailers?

Yes, we are able to send more pictures of trailers on request.

I am looking for trailers to export. Is this possible?

We export our semi-trailers all over the world. Please contact us and we will assist you with your request.

I would like to rent/lease a trailer. Whom shall I contact?

Please go to our corporate website where you will be able to find all the necessary information and contact details.

Are the offered trailers still in a good condition?

All of our trailers are maintained by our own TIP workshops, we have a network of workshops all around Europe. We can supply accurate details on the condition of all of our trailers; simply ask us to find out more.

How can I find out if a trailer I have seen on TIP Used is still available?

All trailers that are shown on our website are available for sale. If we have already offered the vehicle to another customer, don’t worry, we have a wide range of different trailers with the same specifications available across Europe.

How many units do you have with similar specifications?

Normally we have many of the exact same trailers, but on the website you will only see one. Please contact us in case you need more trailers with similar specifications and we will provide you with the best offer.

What are the terms of payment?

We are working with immediate payments: trailers need to be paid prior to delivery. Payment terms can be arranged with our local sales representatives.

Are the prices gross or net?

All the prices shown on this website are excluding VAT (net prices). Local VAT will apply with the purchase.

I am a dealer, can I get wholesale prices?

Yes, please contact us and we will provide you with dealer price lists.

I would like to buy trailers and modify/maintain/service them. Could you assist me with it?

At TIP we offer trailers as-is but can help you with modifications/maintenance and other services on trailers in our own workshops throughout Europe.

Do you offer a warranty on trailers?

No, the trailers are in most cases sold as-is.

Can I try a trailer before buying it?

Yes, you can rent a trailer prior to buying it.

Where can I come and see the trailers?

I would like to buy trailer parts, do you offer them?

Yes, you can buy trailer parts through our own workshops.

What is the procedure to change the vehicle owner if I've bought a TIP unit?

In every country, there is a different procedure to transfer ownership of a vehicle. Please feel free to ask one of our sales representatives what the standard procedure is in the country where you have bought the vehicle.

We are sorry to hear about any careless driving incidents involving our trailers. Here at TIP we operate a fleet of over 70,000 articulated trailers that we lease, rent and sell to logistics and haulage companies across Europe.

As a leasing and rental company, we do not operate these trailers ourselves; it is our customers who use the vehicles each day on the roads.

However, we do take these types of complaints extremely seriously, and we can assure you that we do everything possible to ensure that our assets are operated safely, legally and responsibly in a socially acceptable manner and within the confines of the law.

As a trailer leasing and rental company, we do not hire truck drivers as we do not operate any trailers ourselves.

I have received a fine through TIP. What do I have to do?

As the owner of TIP vehicles, if any of our customers happen to receive a fine, the fines are sent to us and we then forward them accordingly.

We will process them on your behalf and kindly ask you to repay us within the stipulated time.
