Clipper MTA 2019 Partnership Award

Clipper Logistics Limited, one of the UK’s leading independent logistics companies and valued TIP customer, has been shortlisted for the ‘Partnership Award’ for the Motor Transport Awards 2019. The award celebrates genuine partnerships between transport operators, customers and suppliers.

With emissions high on the agenda, Clipper has long been committed to limiting the impact that their operations have on the environment. As a result, Clipper began working with Northern Commercials, IVECO, Don Bur and of course TIP in a unique five-way partnership in order to make changes to their fleet as part of their renewal strategy.

Pooling their experience in logistics, transport operations and commercial vehicles, the five-way partnership fuelled Clipper’s goal to reduce, not only just CO2 emissions, but also unnecessary road miles and associated cost.

Delivering on their vision, Clipper introduced 11 new vehicles and 16 semi-trailers uniquely designed to reduce emissions and to increase capacity. The new vehicles and trailers are considered to be amongst the largest, most environmentally friendly in the industry and are just the first step in Clipper’s fleet renewal strategy.

TIP’s partnership with Clipper (managed via the TIP Gateshead branch) has been steadily developing over the last 5 years or so, with TIP providing a range of services to assist in the management of Clipper’s trailer fleet.

The Motor Transport Awards 2019 will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane on 3rd July 2019 to celebrate, recognise and reward excellence throughout the road freight transport industry.
