Our regular spotlight on the mechanics that keep trailers on the road at TIP sees some ‘quickfire’ questions to apprentice workshop mechanic Ellis from our Carrington branch.
Years Year Months Month Days Day
How did you begin working in the trailer industry?
My dad works for TIP, also at the Carrington Workshop, and I have always wanted to follow in his footsteps so I started an apprenticeship with TIP. I am currently two years into my apprenticeship and have almost finished my college NVQ. I will then do a further 2 years in the workshop before completing my apprenticeship. I have loved doing my apprenticeship so far!
What do you like about working for TIP Trailer Services?
I think the opportunities at TIP are great! There is so much training on offer and I have completed a few different pieces of training, even as an apprentice. The people I work with are great too!
What’s your biggest work achievement?
I would say hearing comments about my work from colleagues and the Workshop Manager. It gives me a real confidence boost to know I’m doing well and on the right track!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I used to play a lot of football when I was younger, but now I enjoy gaming, watching YouTube, listening to music and spending time with my family.
